First points dropped at home in league

Connaught A are the first club this season to take points away at the North Wymondham Community Centre as  Pat Saunders, Jack Marshall and Debbie Sparham lost 11-15 to Diane Quadling, Richard Harrison and Shelia Bragg. The home side strarted well to lead 4-0 but once Connaught found the lines they started to match the home triple as a four for Connaught helped them early on to get back in the match quickly. From ends eight to fifteen the home triple managed to pick up only two shots to Connaught's eight and this duly won them the match as they led 9-13 with four ends to go. Credit to the Connaught block who played well and could not say they did not deserve it. On mat 2 Billie Barker, John Jeffery and Jon Sparham beat D. Adcock, M. Parsons and O. Secker 37-6. This was a resounding result with only four ends scored by the Connaught triple, Jon played well at skip to Deny the Connaught triple winning more ends.

Second session saw Roger Steele, Laura Hawksworth and Chris Mann beat P. Hambling, D. Quadling and D. Liles 40-5. A late flurry of shots saw a gloss put on the scoreline with Connaught only scoring on four ends. On mat 2 H. Osborne, B. Saunders and Mark Linsdell beat B. Adcock, S. Parsons and L. Fallows 27-10. The Wymondham trile made a blistering start to lead 15-0 after just five ends and this gave Connught little hope of a comeback. Although after the fifth end they did only lose 10-12 with a dropped five on end sixteen, which would of proved the deciding end.
