One foot in summer cup final after maximum home win

What could easily have been a summer cup final ended up being a semi final clash after the draw put both Wymondham and Bob Carter together. It was expected to be another tight affair over the two legged semi final after both league match's earlier in the season were both drawn 4-4 but the club managed four good wins on the night to give Wymondham a big chance to win the cup for a third time in a row. The first session saw Simon Warnes, Jack Pye and Debbie Sparham win 15-8 against John Turner, Melly Woods and Jason Woods. A dropped four on end nine gave the Carter triple hope levelling the match at 7-7 but the next three ends saw the home side in control again with a 2,1,3 which eventaully saw them through. On mat 2 Laura Hawksworth, Jack Marshall and Chris Mann beat Rob Howlett, Simon Willies and Jamie Forster 19-9. Three ends in the match proved crucial where the home side picked up four's and with two ends remaining had led 19-5. Second session again saw similar performances as Chris Mann's triple beat Jason Woods block by 18-12 in what was another match where the carter triple had levelled after nine ends at 8-8 but then dropped the next three ends to relinquish the match. On mat 2 Debbie Sparham beat Jamie Forster 17-6 with another solid display by the triple to only give away four ends out of the fifteen.
