Osborne shines in final league match of season

In the clubs last summer league match, First Bus were the visiting team and needed an unlikely maximum win to keep their hopes alive of not being relegated but were up against it from the off and in the end came away with nothing. Hayley Osborne was a standout player on the night with her consistency at lead providing a comprehensive 25-12 result with Mel Barker and Debbie Sparham against Elaine Oatway, Peter Fox and Bob Oatway. Roger Steele, Simon Warnes and Jack Pye made a great start in their match against Sue Hunt, Lesley Crowe and David Sharpe to lead 10-0 after five ends but managed to lose the next ten ends by 4-12 as First Bus put the pressure on but the Wymondham triple held on. A change in the second half saw Billie Barker, John Jeffery and Chris Mann up against M. Carmen, S. Fox and B. Oatway. Billie and John struggled throughout the match with Bob being the difference for most of the match at skip for First Bus. Chris played some important shots to keep Wymondham in it as they trailed 5-9 after eight ends. End eleven was a crucial end as Mann played out First Bus' only wood in the head for three and then ends thirteen and fourteen saw a 2 and 4 scored to give them a 15-11 lead with one end remaining. It was a match that could of seen First Bus win but lucky for Wymondham they didn't. Hayley's good form saw her play twice which was a no brainer as she continued her good form along with Debbie also. Steve Easter replaced Melvyn at two but the outcome remained the same with another big 25-6 win against C. Brooks, C. Coman and D. Sharpe.
