Club battles back in first leg five pairs semi final

In the first leg of the Breckland five pairs semi final, Hingham came out strong in the first three pairs and put the club under pressure. Roger Steele and Chris Mann found themselves 2-10 down against an inform Wendy Tweed and Keith Thomas but the Wymondham pair rallied back and in the end lost by just 8-11. Hayley Osborne and John Jeffery also found themselves up against Colin Harris and Graham Tweed who also played well and earned the biggest win of the night by 5-11. Steve Easter and Debbie Sparham produced a great comeback to come from 2-10 down to clinch a 10-10 draw against Pat Roache and John Higgs. A good start and end by Jack Marshall and Melvyn Barker earned them a 12-9 win against Will Townsend and Pat Groombridge. Billie Barker and Jon Sparham were involved in a tight match and ended up drawing 6-6 against J. Townsend and M. White. After 26 out of the 50 ends the club faced potentially trailing by at least seventeen shots but in the end only have six shots to make up at home in the second club, a great team effort against a solid Hingham team who played well.
