Club tops league at halfway stage

After being completely outplayed at Carleton Rode where the team slumped to a 10-0 defeat, one of it's heaviest in recent seasons, the club has bounced back to top the league over Christmas by five points. Having came away from Carleton Rode the club feared the worst for the rest of the season but the response from the team has been the reason why the club has won six league titles. Since that 10-0 defeat the team has picked up 54 points from 60 which included a hard fought win at other title contenders Connaught A. Connaught A's 6-4 win against Carleton Rode last night now means Wymondham are on 74 points with both Carleton Rode and Connaught A on 69 points. Not many would have predicted the outcome over nine match's but with both teams now having to come to Wymondham in the new year the club suddenly has destiny in it's hands again. The team however would like to wish all short mat bowlers a merry Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!
