Skips produce match winning performances to claim first away win

Chris Mann and Jack Pye proved the difference at Diss as both produced the shots to give Wymondham their first maximum away win of the season. Jon Sparham, John Jeffery and Chris Mann beat Colin Smith, Ann Biddulph and Graham Mobbs 18-9 but the score does not reflect how well the Diss triple played especially as the match progressed. Chris produced shots at various stages of the match when at times being four and five down and either managing to get shot or second wood. After being 11-3 up after nine ends the Diss triple had scored two three's late on to make the score 14-9 with two ends to go but a three and single saw the triple win by a fair margin. Mark Linsdell, Debbie Sparham and Jack Pye beat Morris Taylor, Angela Bond and Terry Newby 14-11. Mark and Deb played well with Jack as they had built up a 14-4 lead after twelve ends but at times the home side had put Wymondham under pressure but Jack more often than not managed to produce the shots required. The last three ends Diss won by 0-7 but the damage had already been inflicted. Second session saw Jon Sparham, John Jeffery and Chris Mann beat Morris Taylor, Trish Taylor and Terry Newby 26-3. This was a much improved performance from Jon and John as they dictated most of the play at the front end and with Chris still playing well romped to a big win. Mark Linsdell, Debbie Sparham and Jack Pye won by a fairly comfortable 15-9 margin against Graham Atter, Ann Biddulph and Graham Mobbs as they went into a 7-1 lead after five ends. The Diss triple again battled well to win the next three ends to trail 7-6 but Wymondham replied with a 3,1,2 to lead 13-6 after eleven ends as they saw the match out with Mark, Deb and Jack good value for their second win of the night.
