Grip on league tightens after top of table clash

Second placed Carleton Rode were the visitors to the North Wymondham Communtiy centre and found the going tough as the club secured their eigth maximum win out nine at the hlaf way stage of the season. Mike Newby, Terry Newby and Karl Newby of Carleton Rode were the only triple who looked likely to cause an upset as they led 6-10 after eight ends against Hayley Osborne, John Jeffery and Chris Mann. But the home triple hit back and played much better to put pressure on the Rode triple and paid off as they picked up 22 shots over the last eight ends to win 28-12. Steve Easter, Melvyn Barker and Debbie Sparham eased to a 23-9 win to complete a good first half. The second half got even better as Jack Marshall, Andrew Jackson and Jon Sparham cruised to a 33-11 victory while Billie Barker, Simon Warnes and Jack Pye won 24-10. The win now puts the club at least twenty points clear at the top of the league.
