First points dropped at home

Connaught A were the visitors to Wymondham in the Breckland league and inflicted the first points dropped at home this season. It could of got even worse in the first half for Wymondham as Mary Fisher, John Jeffery and Chris Mann seemed to be cruising in their match against Diane Quadling, Owen Secker and Mike Minshull 15-2 halfway through the match. But all performed poorly in the remaining eight ends as Connaught gained momentum and levelled 15-15 with an end to go. John Jeffery played a great last bowl at two which was not beaten to save blushes. Mikey George, Steve Easter and Jon Sparham produced a very strong performance to win 32-7. Mikey played his first match in over five years and was good to see him playing again. Billie Barker, Simon Warnes and Debbie Sparham enjoed a good 19-6 with only singles being conceded over the six ends Wymondham conceded. Hayley Osborne, Andy Jackson and Melvyn Barker lost 10-11 to Elaine Willies, Lee Fallows and Simon Willies. There was very little to chose between the two triples with them both scoring on eight ends a piece, a dropped three on end four proved the only big difference.
